PhD in Family Medicine Primary Care

The Doctor of Philosophy PhD in Family Medicine Primary Care offered by the Second Faculty of Medicine is a rigorous academic program that prepares graduates for careers in research, teaching, and clinical practice. The program of study will lead to a PhD in Family Medicine. This degree will attract family physicians anticipating a career in academic medicine.

PhD in Public Health

The PhD program in Public Health has been continuously accredited since its inception in 2004. The program provides students with the skills necessary to conduct research on a wide range of public health topics, including epidemiology, biostatistics, and health policy. Graduates of the program are employed in a variety of settings, including academia, government, and non-profit organizations.

Becoming a Family Medicine Doctor

Becoming a family medicine doctor begins with earning a bachelor's degree, typically a four-year degree. After completing a bachelor's degree, students must complete medical school. Medical school is a four-year program that provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to practice medicine. After completing medical school, students must complete a residency program. Residency programs are typically three-year programs that provide students with the opportunity to practice medicine under the supervision of experienced physicians. After completing a residency program, students are eligible to take the American Board of Family Medicine certification exam. Once certified, physicians can practice family medicine.
